How to hold your DSLR camera ?

For the first time i bought this camera, i think it would be easy to capture an image, and that is not true .

I pick it up with the lens pointing away from me, put my eye to the viewfinder and press the shutter release button. It could be so simpler, right? maybe yes or no.

I can took an image with many position , lying down , jump, and didn't see from the viewfinder window.

And the result is.... i took so many scary images, blurring, incorrect position, out of focus and another badly images i produced. What one thing ruins more pictures than anything else?, BLUR !.

The blur that results from an out-of-focus image. Blur is caused by the movement of either the subject or the camera. And because this is my new hobby ( and maybe you ) doing the above will certainly get a picture, but the way you hold your camera can help ensure you get a good picture.

And back to the topic, so how to hold your DSLR camera correctly ?

The first act to do is, prepare your camera in anti vibration mode such as set the camera option in Vibration Reduction mode, or the Auto focus mode, or anything else that would bring the best and sharp image you can produce.

After setting your camera in the best shooting option, then hold your camera as steady as possible. Use your right hand to hold the camera's hand grip and left hand to cradle the body or camera lens.

Keep your elbows propped lightly against your torso for support and place one foot half a pace ahead of the other to keep your upper body stable.

Use your left hand to cradle the lens, so that it's helping to support the weight of the camera. The added weight of a digital SLR can also help to steady the camera.

How to hold your DSLR camera ?

This is a steadier position to get your image out of blur. You may not always have a tripod with you, but you have a bi-pod yourself.

When you're ready to take the picture, press the shutter release button halfway to focus. When focus is complete, the selected focus point or points will be briefly highlighted.

Remember, always smoothly press the shutter release button the rest of the way down to release the shutter and record a photograph.

The important point here is do everything you can to be as solid platform as possible for your camera, short of using a tripod or a VR, image-stabilized lens, and holding the camera properly is the best way to avoid a blurry picture. and it will reward you with sharper pictures.

Try these suggestions and you may see less blur and more sharp. Have a nice shoot ...

  3. Shutter release ; The button that is fully depressed to release the shutter. With the latest cameras, lightly pressing the shutter button activates the exposure meter and starts the auto focus operation.
  4. Vibration Reduction ; A lens technology that improves image stability by automatically compensating for camera shake. Lenses that offer VR will feature the abbreviation VR on the lens barrel.
