Photoworks february 2013 ( painting with light )

I saw some tutorial in another blog were presenting an unique technique in a few days ago. It seems great idea and amazing technique you should try too. They called it as LIGHT PAINTING PHOTOGRAPHY. So what is exactly light painting photography ? Light Painting Photography as i copied from wikipedia were said  as Light painting is a photographic technique in which exposures are made by moving a hand-held light source or by moving the camera.

And what should you do to try this technique ? Well, for me , i just preparing one flash light, cellphone, and of course my camera :p . After that, i set my shutter speed to the longest time before it stop at bulb mode (on my own set on 30") and i try for small aperture (32) . The reason i picked up the value of shutter speed on 30" is because i tried it by my self and i had time to creating great Light painting photography. If you shoot with your friend , its better to use bulb as shutter speed option.

Ok , lets try this light painting photography steps. First, put your camera on tripod, table or another hard stuff. Try to focusing to the point that you want to stand. After you got the focus spot, Make your room dark ( switch off your lighting ), press your shutter button, then stand on the place on your mark. Put your flashlight on , then try to draw with the flashlight facing through your camera lens. Wait until the shutter stop, then look at the result.So simple right ?

For the first time it would a simple light were fill in your images. And its a good creative idea to use another light source or some  good stuff  to make your Photograph more interesting. Just keep on practice , you will get what you want to get. Have a nice try...... :)
